Firm History

In the mid-1950s, Joel G. Jacob and Herbert N. Weingarten helped found the firm Hertzberg, Jacob & Weingarten. For more than 30 years, their firm flourished by providing the highest level of legal services available in the Detroit Metropolitan area. In 1989, the business attorneys of the original firm decided to continue the heritage of providing the finest of legal services by establishing Jacob & Weingarten.

Jacob & Weingarten is now celebrating its 21st anniversary. For more than 50 years, we have had a tremendous level of client empathy and a demonstrated long-term record of success. We work hard to prevent and resolve matters that threaten the health of our clients' businesses.

The success of Jacob & Weingarten is premised upon a few simple beliefs: We must provide our legal services in a timely and personalized manner; we must provide our legal services in a cost-effective manner; and we must take pride in all of our products, from the simplest of letters or pleadings, to the most complicated asset purchase agreement or appellate brief.
